ExcelGPT ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website (excelgpt.app) and services (collectively, the "Service").
By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
We collect several types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you:
While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Information"). Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:
We may also collect information on how the Service is accessed and used ("Usage Data"). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol address (e.g., IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.
When you use our Service to analyze or process spreadsheet files, we may temporarily process the data contained in those files to provide our AI-powered features. This may include formulas, data values, charts, and other content within your spreadsheets.
Connecting a Google Sheets spreadsheet to ExcelGPT is optional and is never required to use the Service. If you choose to connect one, ExcelGPT requests a single permission through Google's OAuth consent screen:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file) — this is a per-file permission. Granting it gives ExcelGPT no access to your Google Drive on its own. ExcelGPT can read a spreadsheet only after you select that specific file in Google's own file picker, and it can reach no other file in your Drive. We use this access to read the cell values of the spreadsheet and tab you selected, so it can be displayed in ExcelGPT and you can ask questions about it, and — when you make an edit in ExcelGPT — to write those values back to that same spreadsheet. ExcelGPT does not create or delete spreadsheets.ExcelGPT does not request permission to list, browse, or read the contents of your Google Drive.
How we store and retain Google user data. Your Google access and refresh tokens are stored encrypted on our servers and are used only to make requests on your behalf. Spreadsheet cell values retrieved from Google are processed to produce the analysis you asked for and are retained only for the working session and any results you explicitly save. You can disconnect a spreadsheet at any time from within ExcelGPT, and you can revoke ExcelGPT's access entirely at any time from your Google Account permissions page at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. Disconnecting or revoking deletes the stored tokens; to request deletion of associated data, contact us at [email protected].
Limited Use disclosure. ExcelGPT's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, we do not transfer or sell Google user data to third parties, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not allow humans to read it except where you have given affirmative consent, where it is necessary for security purposes or to comply with applicable law. Google user data is not used to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
We use the information we collect for various purposes, including:
The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you enter, submit, or access your personal information, including:
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:
If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you. If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information provided in the "Contact Us" section.
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Information from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
