Returns the secant of an angle.
This function works the same in Google Sheets as it does in Excel — same syntax and arguments.
SEC(number)The SEC function calculates the secant of an angle provided in radians. The secant is the reciprocal of the cosine of the angle.
=SEC(0)Result: 1
The secant of 0 radians is 1.
=SEC(PI()/3)Result: 2
The secant of PI/3 radians (60 degrees) is 2.
Use the RADIANS function, for example: =SEC(RADIANS(60)).
