Returns the harmonic mean of a data set.
This function works the same in Google Sheets as it does in Excel — same syntax and arguments.
HARMEAN(number1, [number2], ...)The harmonic mean is the reciprocal of the arithmetic mean of reciprocals. It is most appropriate for averaging rates or ratios, such as speed or price-to-earnings ratios.
=HARMEAN(10, 20, 40)Result: 17.142857
Calculates the harmonic mean of 10, 20, and 40.
HARMEAN returns a #NUM! error if any data point is less than or equal to zero.
