Return the last day of the month a given number of months before or after a date.

EOMONTH finds month-end dates — essential for billing cycles, financial periods, and due dates. Pass 0 for the current month's end, positive numbers for future months, negative for past ones.
=EOMONTH(A2, 0)→2026-06-30Returns the end of A2's month.
=EOMONTH(A2, 1)+1→2026-07-01Gets the first day of next month.

Reference the date to measure from.
Shift months
Use 0, a positive, or a negative number of months.
Use =EOMONTH(date, -1)+1 — the day after the previous month's end.
