Returns the harmonic mean of a data set.

Additional numbers or ranges up to 255 total arguments.
The harmonic mean is the reciprocal of the arithmetic mean of reciprocals. It is most appropriate for averaging rates or ratios, such as speed or price-to-earnings ratios.
=HARMEAN(10, 20, 40)→17.142857Calculates the harmonic mean of 10, 20, and 40.

Click on the cell where you want the result to appear.
Enter the formula
Type =HARMEAN( followed by your data range or numbers, then close the parenthesis.
Calculate
Press Enter to display the harmonic mean.
HARMEAN returns a #NUM! error if any data point is less than or equal to zero.
