How to Refresh a Pivot Table in Excel

Pivot tables in Excel do not update automatically when source data changes. Follow these steps to refresh your data manually or automatically.

Select the Pivot Table
Click anywhere inside your pivot table to activate the PivotTable Analyze tab in the ribbon.

Use the Refresh Button
Go to the 'PivotTable Analyze' tab and click the 'Refresh' button in the Data group.

Alternative Shortcut
Alternatively, right-click anywhere inside the pivot table and select 'Refresh' from the context menu.

Use the keyboard shortcut Alt + F5 to refresh the selected pivot table quickly.
To refresh all pivot tables in the workbook at once, click the arrow under 'Refresh' and select 'Refresh All'.

Why isn't my pivot table updating?

Ensure your source data range includes the new rows or columns, or check if your data source is a Table object.
