How to Add a Slicer to a Pivot Table in Excel

Slicers provide a visual way to filter data in your pivot tables, making your reports more interactive and easier to read.

Select the Pivot Table
Click anywhere inside your existing pivot table to activate the PivotTable Tools tabs in the ribbon.

Open the Slicer menu
Go to the 'PivotTable Analyze' tab and click the 'Insert Slicer' button in the Filter group.

Choose fields
In the dialog box, check the boxes for the fields you want to use as filters and click OK.

You can customize the look of your slicer by selecting it and using the 'Slicer' tab that appears in the ribbon.
Hold the Ctrl key to select multiple items within a single slicer.

Yes, right-click the slicer, select 'Report Connections', and check the pivot tables you want to link.
